Siding Replacement and Sound-Proofing Upgrade In Harrisonburg
For this Harrisonburg home, the owners wanted to improve both the comfort inside and the long-term durability of the exterior. The existing vinyl siding wasn’t providing much insulation or sound control, and the homeowners were looking for a way to update the appearance of the house while creating a quieter indoor environment.
Rebuilding the Exterior Walls
Our crews started by removing all existing vinyl siding and the sheathing underneath. Once the walls were opened from the exterior, we took out the older fiberglass insulation and rebuilt the wall system with materials designed for better performance. R15 Rockwool Comfortbatt insulation was installed throughout the exterior walls to add density and improve sound dampening. A soundproof fiberboard sheathing was applied on top, creating a more solid, better insulated structure before any new siding went up.
Installing Everlast Composite Siding
With the new wall system in place, the entire home was resided using 7" Everlast composite siding in the color Saddle Wood. This material gives the home a cleaner, updated look while offering better long-term durability than traditional vinyl. The solid profile of the composite siding adds to the overall feel of the home and complements the improvements made behind the walls.
A Noticeably Quieter and More Durable Home
The project not only refreshed the exterior, but also made a meaningful difference inside. The combination of Rockwool insulation, sound-dampening sheathing, and composite siding creates a quieter indoor space and a more durable exterior.
