Updating Windows and Siding on a Nelson County Home
We were proud to partner with Vailes Brothers, Inc. to help address several issues homeowners were experiencing with their exterior. The original windows were leaking, fogged, and no longer operating properly, and the wood siding had begun to rot, allowing water to reach the interior walls.
Repairing the Structure and Preparing the Home
To fully resolve the problem, our crews removed all of the existing wood siding from the entire house. With everything exposed, we were able to reframe and repair each area where water damage and leaks were present. This step ensured the structure was sound before installing any new materials.
Once repairs were completed, the home was wrapped in Low E insulated house wrap. This added layer helps improve energy efficiency and provides an important barrier against future moisture.
Modern, Efficient Window Replacement
The homeowners selected Windsor Pinnacle Clad windows to give the house a more modern look. These windows feature large glass areas and sleek sightlines while offering reliable performance and improved efficiency. With everything properly flashed, each opening is now prepared for long-term water management.
A Fresh Exterior with Updated Siding
After the window installation, our team re-sided the entire home with LP SmartSide textured corners, trim, and fascia, along with a combination of textured Hardie plank and Hardie shingle siding. The mix of materials gives the home the appearance of classic cedar shake while providing the durability and low-maintenance benefits of modern products.
Built for Long-Term Performance
Every step of this project focused on addressing the underlying issues and rebuilding the exterior the right way. Proper flashing, repairs, and upgraded materials all contribute to a home that will stay protected for years to come.
