Maximizing Natural Light on a Home in Rappahannock County

We were proud to work alongside Racer Construction and the homeowners on this four bedroom, three and a half-bath home in Sperryville, Virginia. Their vision blended modern and rustic elements, and from the start, natural light and surrounding views were top priorities. Every window decision centered on maximizing glass without overwhelming the room sizes or sacrificing function.

Maximizing Glass and Meeting the Design Goals

The homeowners wanted a two-tone interior finish and windows that would bring in as much natural light as possible. Using Andersen E-Series units, we were able to match the look they had in mind and give each room the bright, open feeling they were hoping for.

To get the most out of the views, we went as large as structurally possible with the window configurations. This required careful planning, particularly with heavier units, and precise alignment during installation. Steel supports were tied into the corners to maintain stability and ensure everything performed exactly as it should.

Well-Insulated Window Performance

One of the compliments from these homeowners was how quiet the home is, even during windstorms. This reflects both the performance of the E-Series windows and the overall insulation and installation quality throughout the home.

The E-Series delivers excellent protection from sound and temperature transfer, helping the home stay consistent, comfortable, and energy-efficient in every season.

A Collaborative Approach

Throughout the project, we worked closely with the homeowners to select operable units that were the right size for each room, provided the ventilation they needed, and still allowed for the amount of natural light they wanted. We were pleased that every update brought them genuine excitement.

That level of involvement made the project especially meaningful for our team. Long-term relationships with both homeowners and builders are an important part of our work, and it is always rewarding to collaborate with partners who value the process as much as we do.
