Partnering on a Custom Charlottesville Build
We are currently partnering with Steve from the Maple Ridge Group on an impressive new spec house in Charlottesville, Virginia. For a project of this scale, the window and door package was a critical element in the overall design. Working together from the very beginning, our goal was to ensure the home's fenestration seamlessly connected the indoor living spaces with the beautiful outdoor surroundings.
Bringing The Outdoors In
From the early design phase, Steve knew that maximizing natural light and capturing the outdoor views would be paramount. We spent a lot of time working closely with the builder to refine the design, dial in the sizing, and determine exactly which windows would work best for different locations around the home. By prioritizing these details early on, we were able to create clear visual pathways that bring the outdoors right into the main living spaces.
A Massive 16-Foot Lincoln Sliding Door
One of the standout features of this build is the massive 16-foot wide, 8-foot tall bipart sliding door from Lincoln Windows. While many large projects default to bifold doors, this Lincoln sliding door allowed us to open the space wide open while helping to manage the overall cost. The result is a stunning, unobstructed view that serves as the centerpiece of the home.
More Than Just a Supplier
At PWD Home, our goal is to go beyond simply supplying a product. We want to be a true partner and an extension of the builder's team. On this project, that meant offering ideas, providing spot-on recommendations, and making the installation process as smooth as possible.
